Pipe Support System

Crevice corrosion at pipe supports in one pf the major causes of external corrosion failure and premature paint failure on piping systems . Typical pipe support system use neoprene pads between pipe and support . This causes a tight crevice to be formed between pipe and support . This Crevice attracts and retrains moisture through capitally action . The Paint designed for atmospheric use finds itself in immersion use and soon soften and fails . This results in localized crevice corrosion and progressive paint failure . Standard pipe rack supports are difficult to access and suffer from similar defects .
The Nu-Bolt consists of a neoprene or heat shrunk plastic sleeve bonded to the metal to prevent damage on coatings and metal to metal contact during installation . Nu-Rods are made from specially hardened engineering plastics designed and shaped to ensure minimal point contact . The Nu-Rods are UV stable and have high compressive strength and will not deform under point loads .Nu-Bolts and Nu-Rods are the proven solution to the problem . The support is inspectable , The Crevice is eliminated and the water kept off the pipe adding years to paint system life and thereby deferring maintenance . http://www.pj-energy.com/CorroShield.asp#Detail1
